Serial Velocity joins us.

As an independent developer, Serial Velocity has joined us and continues development of his project Starscape One. The game has already been in the works for almost a year, and is showing great promise as a stand-alone 3D Space Adventure game. There are hints that there could be a multiplayer aspect in the game's future. We'll just have to wait and see.

Announcing the beginning of development for a new game project. Unworthy, is a Single Player First Person Shooter that is a prequel to Worlds Apart Online. It tells the story of an average guy, living an average life, when suddenly everything changes. Global warming has gone beyond our control and the Earth will soon be a desert wasteland. There is one chance to survive, but it's a slim one. The full back story is available on the new Unworthy Project Page.

Worlds Apart Online Status

The Worlds Apart Online beta has been suspended. We're making some major modifications to the game engine and the graphics, and adding a lot more to the game play. One of the major changes is a shift from a large number of NPCs controlled by AI, to a player controlled universe. There will still be some NPCs, but their capabilities will be limited for now.

It will be a few weeks before testing opens up again, and we'll be opening under Alpha test conditions. Since we're carrying some of the previous work over, but mostly starting fresh, it made sense to start at an Alpha stage until things are up and running and stable enough to justify going to Beta.

The major changes involved required us to wipe the database, so all previous accounts have been deleted. You'll have to sign up for the website again, but the good news is the account system is tied into the new website database. So one login gives you access to the website, the forums, and the games that you've been approved for.

There will be a limited number of Alpha Tester positions open, so if you are interested in getting into the Alpha test phase, check the Worlds Apart Online Forum for details.
